A walk in the park
The park was approached as the artist's own private 'exotic wilderness', surveyed in the manner of a 19th Century explorer.
Developed for PARK14, a weekend of selected site-specific sculpture at Canizarro Park in Wimbledon.
In contemporary society, the natural world is, first and foremost, an exotic product of tourism. Wilderness is tamed by tourism and has become part of the outstretched contemporary city.
